We collect your name, email and message if you contact us, plus standard server logs. We don't sell data, don't run advertising cookies and don't share your details with glamping sites. You have full UK GDPR rights — email [email protected] to exercise them.
Who we are
Glamping Guide operates the website at glampingguide.co.uk. We publish editorial guides about glamping in Wales. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this site. You can reach us at [email protected].
This policy explains what we collect, why, and what rights you have. It was last updated on 25 July 2026.
What we collect
| Data | When | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name and email address | When you email us or use the contact form | To reply to you | 24 months |
| Message content | When you contact us | To handle your enquiry | 24 months |
| IP address and browser type | Automatically, in server logs | Security and abuse prevention | 30 days |
| Aggregate page analytics | Automatically, if analytics are enabled | To see which guides are useful | 14 months |
We do not collect payment details, because we don't sell anything. We do not ask for your date of birth, address or phone number.
Legal basis
- Legitimate interests — for server logs, security, and understanding which pages are read. We've assessed this as low impact and you can object at any time.
- Consent — for any non-essential cookies or analytics that require it. You can withdraw consent whenever you like.
- Legitimate interests — for responding to an enquiry you sent us. If you write to us, we'll write back.
Cookies
This site is deliberately light on cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not run remarketing pixels, and we do not sell data to third parties.
- Essential cookies — none currently required for the site to function
- Analytics — if enabled, aggregated and anonymised, with IP truncation
- Third-party fonts — we load web fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers. Their privacy policy applies to that request.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Nothing on this site will break if you do.
Who we share data with
Nobody, in the ordinary course of things. Specifically:
- We do not sell, rent or trade personal data
- We do not share your email with glamping sites, booking platforms or advertisers
- Our hosting provider processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement
- We may disclose information if legally required to do so
External links
We link to national park authorities, Natural Resources Wales, Visit Wales, booking platforms and glamping sites. Once you follow one of those links you're on someone else's website and their privacy policy applies. We have no control over what they collect. External links on this site carry a nofollow attribute and are unpaid.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Have your data deleted
- Restrict or object to processing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on it
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Data security
The site is served over HTTPS. Enquiry emails are stored in a mailbox protected by two-factor authentication. We keep access to personal data limited to the people who need it, which is a short list.
Children
This site is aimed at adults planning holidays. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this section. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for a reasonable period.
